30 Day Disney Challenge: A Tale as Old as Time

Day 7:

This one was another no brainer, but probably not for the reason that you think.

Yes, Beauty and the Beast is a great Disney movie. It taught us not to judge books by their covers, that everyone deserves a second chance and that Stockholm Syndrome is for reals. It had good music and lots of excitement, not to mention a douche bag villain that really gets it in the end.

But the reason why Prince Adam (better known as The Beast) is my favorite is simple:

the rest of the princes suuuuuck.

Seriously, if you look at all the other princes (and I mean princes, not just male protagonists) they are all boring as hell. Yeah, they're all strong and manly and all that crap, but they have absolutely NO personality.

The Beast is a person with actual emotions. They aren't always pretty but at least they're real. His character goes through more than one transformation, changing not only from man to beast and back again but from an egotistical, cruel tyrant to a kind and loving protector.

All the other princes are just like "hey, you're a pretty girl, let's get married" and that's about it.
